After that accident, Senthil couldn't see any other strange behavior from him. Ram escapes from the house and while walking on the road, suddenly hit his head on a vehicle. Senthil explains that once when he told Ram about his disease, Ram smashed a glass bottle on his head. If something positive happened, Ram would jump in joy, but if a tiny negative thing happened, he wouldn't be able to control his rage. Ram couldn't take all this pain and went for a jag, which was when Senthil had realized that Ram was suffering from bipolar disorder. After Janani had told him she was leaving for America, the same night his best friend Kumaran had also planned to leave for Singapore. Senthil tells her the truth about Ram, that there were two sides to him. The story then returns to reality with Janani finding a suicide letter in Ram's coat, and after reading it, she asks Senthil about his death.

The two get married with Ram's father's help and lead a happy life. She is then disowned by her family by her mother and she lands up at Ram's door. When Janani's mother tells her that they are moving to America, Janani burns her passport so she can stay with Ram. When Janani reciprocates his love, she is stopped by her poor family. He begins to follow her around with his friends Senthil and Kumaran. He sees Janani and has a crush on her straightaway. She recalls memories from when they first met and the story starts with a flashback when Ram and Janani were 12th grade students.

His wife Janani (Shruti Haasan) realizes that her husband did not die naturally, as she finds his room stained with blood spatters. This movie definitely need a patience watching and requires your time and heart to invest, you will reap great returns and its a wonderful experience that your heart is heavy with those returns Missed to become a cult classic - but for me its more than that. The story opens with the death of Ram (Dhanush). Hats off to the director for making me cry and feel the pain of the lead characters. I was able to feel each and every emotions that character was going through and finally i cried out a loud nearing last few mins. I was imagining myself to be Ram and watching it. I usually, watch movies very seriously without missing a frame on screen. This movie requires the audience time and heart to be spent to understand the main two characters Ram and Nandhini, and once you are ready to invest, director (aishwarya) and Music director (Anirudh) takes you to their world and in their life which throws a LUMP in your throat. This movie is not for the audience who wants to spent a few hours by crunching pop corn, frequently chatting/texting in mobile phone. Director has set the mood starting from first frame showing Ram (Dhanush) deadbody which clearly says its not your usual regular romantic-fun movie. Now the movie has become a very underrated and people are not interested to watch again. Why this kolaveri? song completely spoiled this movie from getting its cult status which it deserved to be. There's saying don't judge a book by its cover. Everyone would have expected a jolly, romance fun- filled movie, but it is not.

Probably, why this kolaveri? shouldn't have happened to this movie which created a different outlook of the movie expectation. I missed to watch this movie in theaters after hearing some avg reviews, have to blame myself and I regret for this decision.
